1. Screworms: The July 2, 2026 Livestock Weekly issue has a reprint of their February 1962 article on the prevention of screw worms by using sterile flies released from planes and vehicles. We’ve known and put into practice how to avoid this for over 60 years. Here is the Texas Animal Health Commission page, with infestation map. Mertzon is not currently on the map, but it’s a matter of time…
