The cell tower being constructed at 3rd and Main is already an eyesore, and the process undertaken by its consultant and owner to get it approved is nothing short of a travesty. See photos and commentary below.

I called Ms. Kampman on October 22, 2026, and she said that because Judge Criner did not say in her letter below that she wished to be considered a "consulting party", they did not treat her as one.

It was bad faith on the part of Tri Leaf to interpret Judge Criner's letter above that she did not wish to be a "consulting party". Ms. Kampman, however, told me that Judge Criner was not treated as a "consulting party" because she did not explicitly say so in her letter.

C. Commentary

1. Cell tower: This is a developing dispute...come back for updates. I requested a copy of the Texas Historical Commission concurrence letter approving the site in my phone call with Ms. Kampman. In an email on Oct. 28, 2026, Ms. Kampman advised that since their case was closed, she couldn't give it to me (?!) but she could give me the file number at THC, 202608771. I am in the process of coordinating with the Irion County Historical Commission, of which I am a member.

2. 765 kV update: Local Meredith McCall uploaded this article, Texas Officals huddled with Tech Companies before grid blitz, on the Interchange for all the 765 cases on October 28. I urge you to read it, especially if you haven't yet voted. The bottom line is that rural Texas is being betrayed by state leadership in Austin.
